Uruguay. Champion and undefeated playing at the Centenario Stadium in the history of the Copa América

On July 23, 1995, Uruguay won its 14th Copa América. At the Centenario Stadium, the blue team defeated Brazil in the penalty shootout 5 to 4, after equaling 1 to 1 in the 90 minutes. Brazil's goal was scored by Tulio, while the tie was scored by Pablo Bengoechea from a free kick. In the definition from the penalty spot, the Uruguayans scored all their shots (Francescoli, Herrera, Bengoechea, Gutierrez and Martínez). While Fernando Álvez saved the shot from the forward, Tulio. Under the technical direction of Héctor “Pichón” Núñez, Uruguay remained undefeated on Uruguayan soil in regards to the Copa América. 
In 108 years of history of the Copa América, Uruguay reached the title 15 times; The first at the Centennial in 1942; The first of the Centennial with the Amsterdam and the Colombes with its third section in 1956; In 1983, Uruguay became champion again, living in each of its presentations at the Centennial; 1995, Uruguay champion.

On July 23, 1995, Uruguay won its 14th Copa América at the Centenario Stadium.
